Best I've seen Sandilands in a long time, I forgot my camera so this shot is from last year. Similar conditions except it was a about a foot bigger than this yesterday.

Powers Of Three trailer.

More Surfing Videos >>
Fergal Smith, Tom Lowe and Mickey Smith are three of the aforementioned men, part of that small circle. More than just athletes, they are Artists driven by obsession, prepared to suffer and sacrifice in pursuit of their art. While they can surf almost anywhere they choose, they have made it their purpose to pioneer and push ahead, to overcome these Irish waves through the long Winter, to feel out what is possible and then do the seemingly impossible. While every surfer who resolves to tackle the world’s big waves risks his or her life, there are few places that compare to Ireland when it comes to reminding us that nature holds all the cards.

Choices.

Awesome gallery from Surfer Mag. This one from Shorty, Andy Irons at Pipe. Look at that lip!

xp-ed from Ireland.

Just looking at some cross-proccessed shots from the trip last year, lovely sunny colours even though it rained most the time we were there!

Parko.

Stayed up watch the Quik pro at Kirra last night, Parko was on fire... a 9.93 and a 10 point ride in his semi final and another 10 in the final. Amazes me how good these guys are. And good to see Kirra making a comeback, someplace I've wanted to surf as a kid. Watch the highlights, and sign the petition!

Dark Was The Night.

Dirt Bike Project - Buck 65.

Another Buck 65 link.

"I set out a task for myself, to put together three huge albums worth of music in three months - what I've been calling the 'Dirtbike' project. I managed to write and record approximately 70 songs. The three "albums" are each around an hour in length.

I think of Dirtbike 1-3 as a woodshed demo project. But I've wanted to share this work with anyone who was interested in hearing it. They've floated around a bit here and there, but now I would like to share them directly with you."

And if it did come out on CD, above would be my version of the artwork.

Buck 65.

Buck 65 with Symphony Nova Scotia
Recorded: Apr. 18, 2008
Venue: Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, Halifax, NS

“It was something that could only happen in Halifax” says Halifax Chronicle Herald critic Stephen Pedersen. That’s because Symphony Nova Scotia is an unusually versatile first class chamber symphony orchestra, Buck 65 is a truly imaginative and creative poet and hip hop artist, and conductor/composer Dinuk Wijeratne has the imagination and skill to pull it all together – a combination of talents and attitude that you don’t often find.

The night featured arrangements of Buck 65’s hits like “Way Back When” and “Cries a Girl”, but also a CBC commission of a brand new work by Dinuk Wijeratne - a triple concerto for Cellist (Norman Adams), turntable artist Buck 65 and percussionist Terry O’Mahoney.

Missed this when it first came out. Buck 65 has always been a bit of a fave... listen here.
