The Impossible Project.

Impossible b.v. has been founded with the concrete aim to re-invent and re-start production of analog INTEGRAL FILM for vintage Polaroid cameras. Therefore Impossible b.v. has acquired the complete film production equipment in Enschede (NL) from Polaroid, has signed a 10-year lease agreement on the factory building; and has engaged the most experienced team of Integral Film experts worldwide.

James Jarvis.

Onwards from akqa on Vimeo.via highsnobiety.
Artist James Jarvis worked on an interesting new film project, entitled “Onwards”. One of his characters is featured in the short movie, running in a non-linear environment.

“I had become interested in the idea of characters that were less referential and more iconic and abstract. I particularly wanted to do something with a potato-headed stick-man that I had been drawing at that time.
The film was inspired by certain personal experiences in running – a favourite run over Blanchland moor in Northumberland, being attacked by a crow in Singapore – and also by the transcendent, almost psychedelic experience of the simple act of running.

Rather than a marketing project inititated by Nike, the film was something proposed and produced by myself, and as such I hope represents a much more equal collaboration with a brand.”

Adbusters One Flag.

I’m from a minority nation submitted to a flag that I don’t feel, but they say it has to be mine. With this the concept of a meaningful flag changes completely and becomes a symbol of oppression. Because of this, I don’t like flags in general. For this reason the idea of creating one was personally very challenging. A flag for the idea of global citizenship, free from any establishment or language.

First I thought that a flag can’t achieve this project. It has too much symbolism in itself. It shouldn’t be a flag. But maybe, it should be a flag that doesn’t need to be a flag. It needs to be a kind of spirit that people all over the world know and understand in their own way.

Powers Of Three trailer.

More Surfing Videos >>
Fergal Smith, Tom Lowe and Mickey Smith are three of the aforementioned men, part of that small circle. More than just athletes, they are Artists driven by obsession, prepared to suffer and sacrifice in pursuit of their art. While they can surf almost anywhere they choose, they have made it their purpose to pioneer and push ahead, to overcome these Irish waves through the long Winter, to feel out what is possible and then do the seemingly impossible. While every surfer who resolves to tackle the world’s big waves risks his or her life, there are few places that compare to Ireland when it comes to reminding us that nature holds all the cards.

Awesome gallery from Surfer Mag. This one from Shorty, Andy Irons at Pipe. Look at that lip!

xp-ed from Ireland.

Just looking at some cross-proccessed shots from the trip last year, lovely sunny colours even though it rained most the time we were there!

Parko.

Stayed up watch the Quik pro at Kirra last night, Parko was on fire... a 9.93 and a 10 point ride in his semi final and another 10 in the final. Amazes me how good these guys are. And good to see Kirra making a comeback, someplace I've wanted to surf as a kid. Watch the highlights, and sign the petition!
