Drive to Salt Creek

we hammered the camper back from vegas to get in the water... stuck in traffic and a drive thru the hills south of LA. We got 15 mins in at a place called salt creek before it got to dark. I got 5 waves and it was the best 15 mins of surfing i've ever had... about head high 5 guys out and fast sucky little waves, si wiped out and came up with a bloody nose it was that kinda session i'll always remember and re-live over and over...

no pictures of the session paula and kel were tucked up drinking wine and moaning about boys and waves i guess...

was quite mesmerised by these... could of stayed for hours the highlight of vegas for me!

Vegas.

crazy place is las vegas, you have to see it to believe it.. its like a homage to human excess and all sat in the middle of a baking hot desert.

think kel won the most, about 10 bucks. my winnings all of 4.70... when back down the drain!

big sur...

driving into big sur was kinda scary in the dark... amazing moon over the hills then this car pulled up added to the shot i though.

breakfast, bagels toasted over the campfire, beauuuuty.

we did a horse ride tour of the area, never been on a horse before but was great... never realised my legs could ache so much!

the scenery is amazing... so wish we could spend more time there. we also surfed a spot at the big sur river mouth was only small but washed the before days drive out ofthe system.

surf/large wifelife check at waddel creek just north of santa cruz, pretty sweet spot we both had some nice waves, si got his first barrel here!

santa cruz.

santa cruz is a cool town, every one got nice but small waves at pleasure point, infront of jacks house and me and si picked up new boards... me a 6'0 Xanadu Tuflite Matt Rockhold model and si a 5'10 retro fish from xanadu. both boards fly, on the way towards santa barabara from sc we stopped off at Pismo beach and gave them both a test drive... i think before the trip is out si's gonna have a board similar to mine and me a board similar to si's!

bit behind with these posts, been out of contact in big sur and surrounding areas. surf has kinda disappeared so in vegas for a couple of days... will hopefully get a chance to upload more stuff tomorrow.

boards in jeff clarks shop at mav's... surfed francis beach in half moon bay was pretty eerie with the seagulls and the fog... the water was so glassy with the odd well overhead set sneaking thru.

Too much water on the roller. Looks great thou, i've saved it for nearly three years now. Its like buses huh... no posts for days then 3 at once, enjoy.

Camping Cali...

off to california at the end of the week got big plans! taking my nikon fm2 and my camcorder might even throw in the super8! need to chill out for a while and hopefully get some waves. Found this picture and added the graphic treatment whilst looking for a kinda graphic to go with the book 'roll on cali'.
